What shape glasses will suit me?
This is a difficult one. But generally here's a bit of a guide line -
Round Face:
Choose rectangular or square glasses, higher temples/arms will make your face appear longer. Avoid round shapes. Frameless or rimless are great for you.
Oval Face: You're lucky - most shape glasses will suit you. Just make sure the frame is in proportion to the size of your face. But anything goes, round, rectangular, classic or funky. Frames that are slightly wider than your face will also look good.
Oblong: The best shape glasses for you are round (see Paris Gold or Lima Black) and square. These shapes will make your face appear slightly shorter. Just make sure the frame is in proportion to the size of your face. But anything goes, round, rectangular, classic or funky. Frames that are slightly wider than your face will also look good.
Square: Avoid square frames - too much sameness. Shallow oval or rectangle frames will work. Thick, coloured or decorated arms are to be avoided. Frameless styles are just the business as they won't cover too much of your face.
Colour:
In general your hair colour should compliment your frame colour.
Dark/Brunette hair colour: Choose Brown, Black Bright Colours, Tortoiseshell frames.
Blonde/Mousey hair colour: Choose silver, light gold, pastels, muted colours, tortoiseshell frames.
Copper/Red hair colour: Choose brown, gold, beige, copper, tortoiseshell, orange frames.
Grey/white hair colour: Choose black, silver, charcoal, gunmetal, blue, pink, purple, burgundy frames.
If you are outgoing and extrovert choose a frame colour contary to your colour pattern e.g. if your colouring is light choose deep coloured frames, or vice versa, choose cool frames if your colouring is warm. In other words make a statement. See 'Edna' in our funky range for a dramatic statement.
Frameless glasses are just the ticket for those who like an invisible look. Choose these if you don't like wearing glasses or don't like extra colour on your face.
Bear in mind that frameless are not as robust as framed glasses and will need a bit of minding like putting in a hard case when not in use!
All of the above is a matter of taste as are our categories. Some men like colourful styles and some women like sober colours. Some like to choose a contrasting colour to create a stir. Go for it!
